Palchen Study Group Jacksonville will meet every Sunday morning from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM at 1055 Park Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32204. Our first meeting is February 6, 2011.

We are a Tibetan Buddhist Study group with a relaxed format that is excellent for those who are new to Tibetan Buddhism and want to learn more about Buddhism in general. Our roots are primarily in the Dakpo Kagyu and the treasure lineage of Terchen Barway Dorje, however our group will study teachings from other lineages of Tibetan Buddhism as well.

Our current format is to begin the meeting with traditional Tibetan opening prayers (you are welcome to participate, or not as you see fit) followed by a short period of silent sitting meditation.

We then move to the book study portion of the meeting and read aloud from the book we are currently studying. After a period of reading, we may have another short sitting practice, and then active discussion of the text.

The group is currently facilitated by a 10 year student of The Venerable Bardor Tulku Rinpoche with his permission and blessing.

There is no charge to attend the study group and all are welcome. If you have your own meditation cushions, please do bring those with you. Chairs are provided for those who are not able to sit on the floor.
